This post? Is hopelessly narcissistic.
There was a great post over at the Fatshionista LJ last week about hairstyles, and how we change our hair over the years. It inspired me to look through my photos - I only have reliable pictures since 2008, but there have been quite a few changes since then!
I give you: my hair decisions, some good, some bad.
1/08:
Past shoulder length hair, always worn pulled back:
5/08:
side swoopy bang:
11/08:
my first heavy bang:
7/09:
cut to shoulder length:
10/09:
cut short!
12/09:
assymetrical heavy bang, overall a little more body:
2/10:
"You look like a romulan". I hated this haircut and I'm still recovering. Too severe, too bowl-like.
3/10:
Growing out again. I still didn't like it, but I did like how it was distinctive!
5/10:
put a blonde streak in the bangs
9/10:
Almost ponytail length:
10/10:
Dyed over the blonde streak, now I can pull it back!

My favourite is 5/08 - looks foxy! I've had awful haircuts - ones that I really remember:
Circa 1994/5 - mother "trimming" my fringe so that I had nothing left
2005 - Japan - Japanese hairdresser not used to western hair cutting it ULTRA short
2007 - 8 months before my wedding went to vidal sassoon training colleague in Bond St, London - got an asymetrical cut! Awful terrible! Hair still wasn't grown out for wedding!
I love my hair now... which reminds me must book an appointment for trim & root touch up!
I really like the one where you have side-swept bangs!
I think a bad haircut is one of the only things that is guaranteed to make me feel terrible about myself. I don't know what it is about my hair, but it's such a big deal to me!
Ooh, fun post! You look lovely with bangs or no bangs!
I'm going through a similar thing now. I've had short straight Betty Page-esque bangs since I've had hair, so for the first time ever, I've grown them out and am rocking the side swoop circa your 05/08. I've received tons of compliments, but am still on the fence, as now I can see them, but I'm holding firm. We'll have to see how it all turns out and if I'll keep them.
Oh, and thanks for the kind words about the necklaces. It looks soooo cute on you! I'm glad you like it!
Thanks Jennifer!
Brooke - I know what you mean! Now that my hair is nearly long enough to pull back (which was a goal), I want to cut it. But I will not! I will stand firm.
I actually like your hair a lot, from the pictures you've posted on your blog!
You inspire me chickadee - I really want to get a fringe again, but I also wear glasses so I'm not too sure. Now I wanna go book that hairdresser (and an opticians appointment to get some new cool glasses like yours!!)
xxxxxxxxxx
Thanks Debbie! You should totally go for it.
Also, for cheap glasses... eyebuydirect.com. Seriously they are amazing, and the glasses are so cheap (like $8 for a complete pair, I'm not kidding).
