Hi! Welcome to we are large, people! My name is Rebecca, and I'm so glad you stopped by!
A little bit about me: I live in Seattle with an adorable husband with a beard (his name is Bob (the husband, not the beard)).
We're proud dog parents of a schipperke/pomeranian mix named Waffles.
I write about fashion, but also about the fabulous happenings of my life. These happenings usually involve looking awesome, sewing and crafting things, and eating delicious foods.
One of the main purposes of this blog is to be visible as a fat body, and to show that fat bodies can be beautiful, and that fat people can have style. You'll notice I'm using the word "fat" - that's because it is just an adjective, and I prefer it to other euphemisms like "curvy" or "full-figured" (though those words are fine too!).
I wrote more about this concept of visibility here if you'd like to take a look. And if you are really interested in what this whole thing about accepting one's body, fat and all, is all about, there are lots of great links out there! Here are a couple:
- Fat Acceptance 101 (by the inimitable Marianne Kirby).
- Fatshionista.livejournal.com is an awesome community that first introduced me to the idea that every body is beautiful.
