Public art at the empire state plaza

I really dig public art. Recently I was in upstate ny and got to see some awesome art in the Empire State Plaza (basically the capital building and environs in Albany NY).

I really enjoy happening upon art when I don't expect it, and also having it be a part of the day rather than having to go to a specific museum to see it.











Here I am interacting with the art (or, umm, just standing in front of it...)

(outfit details: flowy sleeveless shirt from Old Navy years ago, tank top underneath Old Navy, ivory cardigan from Target, jean cutoffs that I cut off myself from Avenue jeans, and canvas skimmers from avenue recently).

The empire state plaza was a cool spot. It was built during the 60s and 70s during Gov. Rockefeller's time in office and most of the art was commissioned/acquired during that period. As you can see, most of it is large, colorful, kind of abstract, etc.

This part of the plaza has that "imposing dystopic future as seen in a 1970s scifi film" look to it:
