OOTD: in which I wore my hair down for the first time in MONTHS

Today, we lazed about the house until dinnertime. I actually blew my hair dry today and decided to wear it down. It's been forever since I've done that - it's getting really long! I like it.

After hair drying adventures (as if anyone needs any more adventure in their day), we went to Target to buy hangers (what can I say, my clothing collection is getting a bit out of control), then to dinner, then to see Thor.

Isn't this husband adorable? We, through no effort of coordination, wore the exact same shade of green.

All in all, a fine evening.

Also, I have to share, even though this is in no way fashion related... We got Waffles a summer haircut.

From this:

To this:

Isn't she adorable? She's a lot smaller underneath all that hair than we thought she was! She looks like a little bear cub!

What's been going on with you lovelies this early summer? Any summer haircuts for yourselves or your pets? Do share in the comments!

The pic of you and your husband is adorable! I can't believe it is the same dog. What a difference a summer haircut makes!

It's winter here and cold but it's the solstice this weekend so the days will get longer again:)

Your hair looks great - well worth the adventure! I am also loving your dress and boots ensemble. Waffles looks sassy with her new do. She is ready for summer. I just came back from a road trip that included stops in Maine, Vermont, and New Hampshire. I found a Target and went a little wild. I was excited to find discount shoes and jeans in my size.

I love how you look with your hair down! You look like a different person! Just like Waffles looks like a different dog!

How was Thor? I haven't seen it because it was in 3D - I HATE 3D! We've been to my parents in law for Father's Day - exciting!

Such a great outfit - is the dress vintage? Waffles totally looks like a bear cub. Very cuddly :)

The long, straight hair looks so polished! Mine is half grown-out and driving me nuts. I'll need a trim in the next week or two as it's getting straggly, and I'll be tempted to cut it all off.

Sassy - thank you! I know, we hardly recognized her when we picked her up from the groomer! She is so adorable! We're about to have the solstice in the other direction here, so we'll lend you some of our hours of sunshine (it doesn't get dark here until after 10pm right now, crazy!)

Allison - thank you so much! Super exciting about the road trip - Target really is the best. Even though they don't have much plus sized clothing, I've still found a lot there (especially in the shoe section...)

Monkey - Thanks! I feel like a different person with the hair down too - more mainstream? I don't know. I feel like women wear their hair down a lot, so it makes me feel like I'm more a part of the sisterhood of women or some such crap as that, when I also wear my hair down. Thor was actually entertaining - we managed to catch it in regular old 2D, which I was glad about, because I honestly hate 3D too - it just gives me a headache. I'm old!

Geetabix - thank you! Yes, the dress is a vintage one, I bought it off the fatshionista.livejournal.com clothing swaps back when they used to do those. Funny story, I bought it from Kirsty at Fatty Unbound, little did I know I'd meet her in person one day! I cut my own bangs all the time. I used to cut my own hair all over when I was in college and it was shorter. So, good luck with that!

The print on your dress is so lovely! (it's unusual!)
I know how you feel about the rarely wear my hair down bit. I just can't bear to blow dry my hair in my hot, un-air conditioned place when it's summer. So, it ends up going in a pony or bun most of the time!

Thanks so much Vanessa! I'm the same way, i HATE sweating, which means I don't like using the blow dryer much at all.

Thanks Danae :)

Love your hair, you look really happy, and that is a beautiful thing. I love your crochet blanket! Handmade? (I wish I had that kind of commitment!)

Your dress is beautiful! And I love your frames! What kind of camera do you use? Very crisp quality, and I love the vintage sort of look to your blog.

Your dog is so sweet. And from the pictures, she looks a lot happier after the haircut. :)

Love your blog.

Thanks everyone! To answer the questions:

Georgina - no, I definitely didn't make the blanket - my grandma did! She gave it to me one christmas and it's definitely my most treasured gift from her.

Lindsey - thank you! Those pics are actually all from my cell phone, I have an android nexus one. Then I used picnik to edit them and apply some effects - it's super easy and free, available within picasa, which is the online pic organization that I use. The frames are from my local eye doctor, they are Cole Haans and olive green with a white underlayer. I really like them, they are my everyday glasses.
