I was lucky enough to snag this dress in black before it sold out, and I'm so glad I did. This is not an intentionally gloaty post, really, I just super, super love this dress, and I'm bummed that they didn't make more of them so more lovely fats could enjoy it.
Here I paired it with a petticoat and my favorite tweed peep toes. The watch necklace was a gift from my husband's family, it was his grandmother's and I have been wearing it a lot - it goes with so much, plus it was such a meaningful gift. I feel closer to his family when I wear it.
I did my hair in a modified version of Syd's messy bun. I think she is adorable. My hair wasn't long enough, so I divided it into two ponytails and teased them both, then wrapped them around each other.
This past week was full of working a lot and being stressed, which explains the lack of blog posts and also the lack of commenting on all of your lovely blogs. I will catch up!
In the meantime, I leave you with this, which was my #1 tumblr favorite of all time (thanks nly!):

I love this dress and you have made it even more wonderful with the petticoat!
Oh this is amazing on you. Erin is right the petticoat really puts it over the top. That watch is so dear, It's so nice to have such a loved piece and feel close to family when wearing it.
I love that petticoat dangling out of the dress. Okay, it is not peeking out so dangling sounds right. Hehe. I bought it too and I love it as well just that I think i could size down! I'll have pics of me wearing it soon! I also bought the camel colour oops.
I think the dress looks great on you! Good find. I love it when the shopping fairies smile upon us. Also? That image cracked me up. Totally going to steal and send to my husband.
very pretty dress! i love the petticoat!
Way! You're back! Hello! I love the way you styled that! I might totally steal it for dressing my dress that way in the next week. BTW when I wore the dress on Mon, I got asked TWICE if I was pregnant. :(
Asos never disappoints. This dress is gorgeous on many levels. I like the detailing at the bottom and of course the peter pan collar.
Erin - you are so sweet, thank you!
Curvy - thanks! I am such a petticoat fan, and the watch is just awesome. I need to get a new battery for it, but part of me likes the fact that it stopped working when his grandmother owned it, so I may just keep it as a non-functional piece of her memory.
Merry - thank you! It is actually dangling, I agree with your word choice. There's way too much showing for it to be "peeking" :). I bought it in the camel color too! But I didn't like it on me, so I returned it.
Allison - thank you! Isn't that picture the greatest? I still laugh at it, and I've seen it about 100 times now.
Elizabeth - thank you!
Monkey - yes, I'm back :). I hate the pregnancy question - I get it too, though not with this dress yet. I just say "nope, no baby in here, just delicious food" :)
Thomessa - you're right, Asos is pretty stinking amazing. Thank you!
Now that I've seen it with the petticoat, I can't imagine it without.
Geetabix - that petticoat is probably the hardest working item in my wardrobe. I just love it with nearly everything!
Very cute! I love the dress paired with the petticoat.
I think I might have read the book that belongs to that image in my youth... *cough* It looks familiar.
Nicole - hehe, yes, romance novels are kind of awesome. My particular bent is towards romantic fantasy, like knights and castles and King Arthur. Still a plethora of feathered-hair-poet's-blouse dudes to choose from!
So cute!
